Yes, security cameras can use mobile data for connectivity. By utilizing a cellular network, security cameras can transmit video footage and receive commands without relying on Wi-Fi or wired internet connections. This allows for flexibility in camera placement and remote monitoring, making mobile data a viable option for surveillance systems in areas without traditional internet access.
A data SIM card is primarily used for accessing mobile data services, such as browsing the internet, sending/receiving emails, and using data-dependent applications. It typically does not offer voice call or text messaging capabilities. On the other hand, a mobile SIM card is designed to provide voice, text, and data services, enabling users to make calls, send texts, and access the internet.
So far so good I’ll probably use this as it was fast and easy
So, when my renewal came up for data on my security camera, I went with Eiot, good price, and I believe they supply the trial sim that came with my Solium 4g camera....shut the cam off, popped out the old, inserted the new, and it seamlessly connected, that's great...but, since that day, the battery will NOT CATCH UP ON CHARGE (solar)...each day, I can't look at the cam because the battery keeps going down, down, down....is there something this new card is doing to constantly draw power, since I don't open the cam more than a few seconds, just to see where the battery is....I did not have this issue before changing the sim.....I'm convinced it is drawing power way more than the old one somehow.....and, the picture freezes a little too much now....didnt expect any differ really....any thoughts, Eiot??
Easy to activate, works great, and fairly priced. Solid 4G coverage.
I have two reolink cameras one go pt and one go pt plus, the go pt is about a year and a half old the go pt plus is about three months old, both have Eiotclub sim cards, the older one being in Pennsylvania with the two carrier card in it , the newer go pt plus being in Florida with the three carrier card in it, the one in Pa, is still working fine, the one in FL, worked good for about two months now for about a month the data stream is inconsistent and slow making the camera useless! I have contacted Eiotclub (message only of course!) After at least half a dozen messages and at least two of them claiming to "Reset my card" and I should restart my camera I still have basically no data and no satisfaction from Eiotclub, I am going to go with a different option as Eiotclub doesn't seem to have an answer for my problem, so good luck with them it seems like the service either works or not!!
this was my first time ordering and using this kind of product from an online vendor ! I had a few (dumb) questions due to my lack of experience, but I received super helpful advice to address all my questions with detailed photos/ instructions to fill any gaps in my knowledge - so I was delighted to get my remote video camera working in record time - due to the excellent support and guidance of the EIOTCLUB team. Thanks so much EILOT CLUB!!!
